Last weekend the Oregon Ballet Academy put on their annual spring concert. After the performance, we did little portraits of the cutest ballerinas you’ve ever seen.

These ballerinas were not only beautiful but they were all so good on the stage! I haven’t yet processed all the photos I took during the show but meanwhile please enjoy these:

A little over a week ago I went again to Oregon Ballet Academy (OBA) to document more of their dancing. The kids were practicing for their spring concert. It will be held on May 23rd at Lane Community College. For more details please visit OBA’s website. From what I’ve seen it’s going to be an awesome performance. I always enjoy working with the kids from Oregon Ballet Academy. Their dedication, patience and attitude are admirable. And they are so good! I have really been enjoying watching them grow and progress during the past few years. OBA needed some new photos for their website so we did a quick little shoot at the studio.

OBA offers inspired dance instruction in classical ballet technique, which provides a strong foundation for all other dance forms, including jazz and tap. Oregon Ballet Academy, Eugene Oregon – Fairy Camp ’09

My kids finally agreed to try some ballet. I signed them up for Megan and John’s Oregon Ballet Academy (OBA) summer camp. They love building fairy house and they got to build one in the camp. And dance! At the end of the camp they had a little show. They had so much fun! My daughter later told me that ballet is her favorite thing now and that she just couldn’t stop smiling when she was dancing. “Dancing makes me happy, mommy!”

Anyway, here are a few shots I took before and during the ballet camp’s little performance:

Megan & John Murphy from the Oregon Ballet Academy and I met up one rainy Sunday morning at their dance studio to work on a studio session for children that took part in the OBA’s Children’s Nutcracker last winter and also to capture some images for OBA’s marketing materials for their upcoming production of Swan Lake.

The children, as always, were amazing and John and Megan super patient. The academy is an awesome ballet studio located at 1645 Oak Street in Eugene, Oregon. What is really cool about the studio is the fact that they provide free ballet lessons for boys of any age! It is a wonderful way to introduce boys to ballet, its physical challenges, fun from performing and many stick with it.
